country on a regular basis while
creating sustainable business
linkages with other service to actors in

linkages and enabling money
remittance services. The project
aimed at optimizing the public
resources in the most efficient way
while creating a link into the private
sector for the future sustainability of
the activities proposed. All activities in
this project are implemented as FIT
INFOTRADE pilot activities as a mean
of enhancing continuity in the concept
development and developing systemic
means of address issues in the
agribusiness sectors in the country.
The purpose of the project was to
collect production and market data
that will provide reliable information
that can be used for focusing
interventions food value chain aimed
at increasing data about selected
crops, creating early warning systems
in high productive areas, addressing
to regional food security, increase of
farmers disposal income, providing
information about traders, agro input
suppliers and making practical
linkages in the participants of the

It gives the farmers a status and reference for services delivery using both modern ICTs for agriculture and other services like financial linkages, marketing and crop insurance.

FIT Insights using its short 8555 will provide the farmers with tailored market information. (prices, weather, market opportunities alert and farming tips and extension advisor

Using past experience in dissemination, FIT works with other third party service providers like radio, and telecommunication to provide direct market information on the target service while training the farmers for interpretation and access

Each of the farmers that are enlisted for the farms services receive financial literacy on completion of their subscription and payment requirement for the programme
