In partnership with IUCN, FIT Insights implemented a community-based market development project in Otuke District to support shea farmers. The initiative focused on building sustainable market linkages, cooperative structures, and capacity for value addition. Through training and organizational development, local communities—especially 382 women—were empowered to access better markets and improve household incomes.
Electoral Commission
FIT Insights played a key role in the development of Human Resource policies and recruitment procedures for the Uganda Electoral Commission. The firm guided the Commission through a structured recruitment process, culminating in the successful hiring of 15 Election Officers. These efforts ensured transparency, professionalism, and institutional capacity building for credible electoral processes.
UMNA
FIT Insights, under the leadership of Robert M.J. Kintu, provided institutional systems strengthening and policy advisory services to UNMA. The firm supported the development of operational frameworks that enhanced data reporting, governance efficiency, and service delivery within the Authority. This work contributed to improved climate data utilization and institutional performance.
Uganda Warehouse Reciept System Authority
For UWRSA, FIT Insights provided strategic advisory services focused on operational frameworks and stakeholder sensitization. The firm supported the development of market entry strategies for structured commodity trading, linking smallholder farmers to certified warehouses. FIT also facilitated capacity building and public awareness initiatives that promoted trust in the Warehouse Receipt System, helping to improve post-harvest handling, reduce losses, and enable farmers to use stored commodities as collateral for financing.
NAMIS
FIT Insights, led by Robert M.J. Kintu, was instrumental in the design and implementation of Uganda’s National Agricultural Market Information System (NAMIS). The system collected, analyzed, and disseminated real-time market data on agricultural commodities across the country. By integrating ICT tools, FIT enhanced price transparency, market access, and decision-making for farmers, traders, and policymakers. NAMIS significantly improved rural incomes and strengthened agricultural value chains through reliable, accessible market intelligence.
