What MaaliPot & Maalicard does

MaaliPot is the online wallet of the Maali ecosystem. With the Maalicard prepaid ATM card, users store, save, send, receive and spend money electronically, with or without internet. It serves two segments: schools (parents, school administrations and staff) and medium trading enterprises (off-takers, produce traders, wholesalers, agents and merchants).

  • MaaliPot wallet: payments, deposits, savings and free transfers within the ecosystem
  • Maalicard prepaid ATM card: cash out at partner ATMs, spend and use multiple currencies on one card
  • No internet needed: dial *205*1#
  • Savings with published cash-back of up to 7% a year
  • Loans: short-term and “rescue” loans against digital savings, so savers can borrow without breaking their plan
  • Insurance for individuals and groups, with MUA Insurance
  • Bill payments and inward remittances, including sending money to Uganda from abroad
  • Agents and merchants: employers and off-takers can fund cards for workers and farmers
